When writing a resume, the first step is to determine how best to organize skills and qualifications. There are three formats from which to choose:

When considering the format to use, remember to avoid sending a generic resume to potential employers. Instead, target each resume, highlighting skills that match those mentioned in the job description advertisement. Also, select a format that presents qualifications and work experience the best.
